Storms to stick around through Friday afternoon

Posted: Updated:

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Strong to severe storms possible tonight, especially south of St. Louis.

Rounds of storms will develop from the west and move through the area this evening and overnight into  Friday morning.  Some could be severe with a higher chance south of St. Louis (click here for severe threat map).  Storms from this evening will push east and south of the area, but another round of rain and storms moves in around the Friday morning drive.

Friday's morning storms will taper off to a chilly rain by mid-morning to early afternoon. Rain ends Friday afternoon and we're left with much colder temperatures in the 50s and winds out of the north gusting to 30 mph.

The Easter weekend forecast will see temperatures in the low 60s on Saturday and upper 60s on Sunday. Both days are expected to be sunny and dry.
