O'FALLON, Ill. (KMOV.com) – An elderly disabled man died after being trapped on the second floor of an O'Fallon, Illinois home as it caught fire early Tuesday, according to authorities.

The fire occurred at a home in the 700 block of Oak Hollow Court around 12:30 a.m.

An official with the O'Fallon Fire Department said two other people were inside the home when the blaze occurred, they were able to make it out safely.

The O'Fallon Fire Department was assisted by Fairview Heights, Lebanon and Scott Air Force Base.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
