FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

St. Louis County said it will be investing $500,000 in Ferguson and Dellwood in an effort to help businesses that were affected by the unrest in August and November.

County government is promising that the areas of Dellwood and Ferguson that were adversely affected by the unrest will be cleaned up. The plan not only calls for loans to businesses, but also calls for the demolishing of two structures and helping business owners rebuild.

“I think it's a boost for residents and business owners here in Ferguson and Dellwood to let them know that St. Louis County government is on their side, as well as many other partners working to revitalize the community,” said Ethel Byndom with the St. Louis County Office of Community Empowerment.

The plan to clean up and rebuild will bring back six businesses.

“We have loaned out zero interest loans with flexible terms. $680,000 has impacted more than 70 businesses, these businesses are now able to keep their doors open,” said Rodney Crim with the St. Louis County Economic Development Partnership.

Officials said no taxpayer money will be used.
