ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

One person was killed and two others injured in separate accidents involving trains in Illinois Thursday.

Police said a vehicle with a 22-year-old woman and a 2-year-old girl was struck by a train in Sparta, Illinois around 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Both victims were flown to St. Louis-area hospitals.

Thursday afternoon, Jonathan M. Schrage, 38, from Breese, Illinois, was killed in an accident involving a train at the intersection of Illinois 143 and Railroad Street, near the Madison County and Bond County line. Police said Schrage was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
