GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A man suspected of robbing the Granite City Steel Credit Union bank on Tuesday is in police custody.

Ricco L. Young, 39, of East St. Louis, was charged with one count of financial institution robbery for allegedly taking over $16,000 from the bank.

According to police, Young entered the bank, located at 20th and Lee Avenue, around 1:30 p.m. and gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller complied to the demand and the suspect left the scene in a vehicle. 

Young was taken into police custody Thursday.
