Man shot during South City robbery

SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A man is recovering after being shot in the leg during a robbery in South City overnight.

The 23-year-old victim told police he was walking in the 3000 block of Meramec around 11:15 Monday night when a white and tan Lexus pulled alongside him. The victim said one of the suspects began talking to him about drugs and when he told the suspects he did not sell drugs, both suspects exited the vehicle, displayed a gun and demanded the victim's property. One of the suspects then struck the victim with the gun, causing him to fall.

The victim attempted to run from the suspects but was shot in the knee.

The suspects took the victim's cell phone and money then re-entered the Lexus and left the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The first suspect is described as being 5-foot-6 with shoulder-length dreadlocks. The suspect was wearing a black skull cap and a black jogging suit at the time of the incident.

The second suspect is described as being 5-foot-6, having numerous tattoos and was wearing a black jogging suit during the robbery.
