ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Authorities said a chase that started in Illinois ended in north St. Louis Thursday night.

Police said it began after they received a call about a church being burglarized in Madison, Ill. A Venice officer responded, and the driver then drove head-on at a patrol car before speeding away, police say. The suspects' car hit the police car. A female passenger was also inside the car.

According to authorities, the car went over the McKinley Bridge and onto westbound Interstate 70. The car hit several signs along Riverview Drive before coming to a stop. The driver attempted to run on foot, but officers tased him.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested. Nobody was injured.
