Gas station clerk fired after incident with armed customer

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A gas station employee was fired after a video surfaced of the clerk in a physical altercation with an armed customer.

Gas station clerk Shannon Jackson said a woman who comes into the BP Gas Station on South Florissant twice daily became pushy.

Another customer in the store took a video of the scene, in which a pistol can be seen in the woman's hand.

After a physical fight began, three shots were fired. Following the incident, Ferguson Police said the 51-year-old customer told them she was stressed out.

The customer was arrested and police were able to recover the gun.

Three days after the incident, the Jackson was fired, but did not know why. When News 4 asked why Jackson was fired, the owner of station said "no comment."

The suspect in the case has not yet been charged and her case will go to the St. Louis County Prosecutor on March 3.
