WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A community is nervous after a shot was fired into a front door of a home in a Webster Groves neighborhood the residents see as safe and quiet.
Police said they began their investigation Saturday after responding to a call for shots fired in the 10 block of South Laclede Station Road.
"Everyone is pretty surprised that it happened here," said Leland Shanle, who lives in the area. "It is pretty quiet in Webster Groves, nothing like this happens normally."
Officers did not find anything after the call on Saturday night, but the next day a resident reported a bullet had been fired through their front door.
"Well, I think it is tragic in the world today where we have to be afraid to be in our own homes," Barbara Balzer, a nearby resident, said. "But we feel our situation and our neighborhood is quite safe. These things could happen, any place at any time."
Webster Groves Police said no one was injured in the incident and the investigation will continue.
