ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com)-- Firefighters were dispatched to a fire early Saturday morning at the Norwood Court Apartment Complex in the 7200 block of Norstead Walk.
A family living at the apartment complex said they noticed smoke inside the apartment around 2 a.m., at which time fire crews were called to the scene.
According to the West County EMS and Fire Department, the fire escalated to a seven-alarm fire around 8 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters said the blaze was difficult to fight because the apartment complex was without firewalls.
Everyone at the apartment complex was able to escape the blaze.
It's not the first time the apartment complex has been the subject of a major fire. The Norwood Court Apartment Complex had three buildings damaged and had 12 families displaced in 2010 after another five-alarm fire.
No one was hurt in the 2010 blaze.
The Red Cross has opened a warming center at Normandy High School for the families that have been displaced due to Saturday's fire.
