ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A senior at Rockwood Summit High School has been collecting gently-used prom dresses since her freshman year for students who could not afford one of their one.

Mia Zacher collected 79 dresses her family, friends and other students her freshman year after noticing some girls could not acquire a dress on their own. Zacher collected 189 dresses in her sophomore year and 166 last year.

Zacher, now a senior, will be going away to college next year and will not be at the school to run “The Cinderella Project.”

“I’m going to college next year,” Zacher said in a press release, “so I won’t be here to do any collecting. I’m talking with Principal Trotier to see if we can find a freshman that would be interested in taking over. I’m sure we will find a great person!”
