(KMOV.com) - Washington, Mo. police are investigating an armed robbery at the Fas-Trip BP gas station in the 5800 block of Highway 100 Wednesday.
Investigators say a man wearing a hoodie and a ski mask walked in at 9:13 pm and asked to buy cigarettes.
"He then announced to the clerk a holdup, demanded money and produced a handgun. It's the same M-O as the previous couple of robberies," Washington Police Chief Kenneth Hall told News 4
Recently, a Little Caesars Pizza restaurant and Fischers Phillips 66 were robbed at gunpoint. Police believe the same person or group pulled off all three holdups to feed a heroin addiction. The description of the suspect in Wednesday’s robbery is a white male, 5'8" with a slim build.
Armed robberies and other violent crimes are rare in Washington, so police are adding extra manpower to the investigation in hopes of catching those responsible before they rob another business.
A reward has increased to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the three armed robberies.
