ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – News 4 spoke with the owner of a repair company who had some tips on how to keep your pipes and furnace working this winter.
Jason Spengler, owner of the Spengler Company, in O’Fallon, Illinois, says one of the most common problems among customers this winter has been broken pipes. According to Spengler, the pipes often break because of the extreme temperatures. Spengler says opening the cabinet doors to the pipes and trickling water can help to prevent the pipes from freezing and breaking.
Spengler told News 4 many people also experience problems with their furnace in the winter. He advises customers to change their air filter frequently to make sure air is flowing throughout the furnace. Spengler also said to make sure your furnace has regular maintenance to insure it is working properly.
