HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) — A former elementary school principal from the northeast Missouri town of Hannibal has been arrested on heroin distribution charges, nearly a week after drugs were allegedly found at his home.

Members of the Northeast Missouri Drug Task Force arrested 33-year-old Joshua Foust early Wednesday. Task force director Patti Talbert says Foust had been in Texas and advised authorities he was returning. Police were waiting when he arrived.
Foust is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He is jailed on $100,000 bond and faces arraignment Friday. His brother and third man also face drug charges.
Foust was principal at A.D. Stowell Elementary School before resigning on Feb. 2, saying he was taking another job. Talbert says a tip led to the investigation that began in December.
