St. Louis (KMOV.com) – A Baptist minister was held at gunpoint and had her car stolen outside a church on Washington Avenue Tuesday night.
According to authorities, the minister was in her car when two men and a woman approached her outside the Central Baptist Church in Midtown St. Louis around 8:00 p.m. The suspects then showed a firearm and ordered the victim out of her car.
The suspects took her 2011 Toyota 4Runner and drove north of T.E. Huntley.
The minister was not injured in the incident.
The church choir was rehearsing inside the church when the minister was carjacked, members of the church told News 4. After the carjacking, church members came out of the congregation and discovered at least four cars had been broken into.
“We can’t connect the two at this point so it’s two separate reports at this time,” St. Louis Metropolitan Police Lieutenant Tony Aubuchon said. “It seems possible, highly likely, but at this point, we can’t connect the two.
Authorities are still searching for the suspects.
