MARISSA, Ill. (KMOV.com) --- A man suspected of setting fire to a home in Marissa, Illinois is now in police custody.

Brandon Murphree, 21, of Marissa, has been charged with three counts of aggravated arson for allegedly setting a fire on Jan. 21. According to fire officials, three people were inside the home when the two-alarm blazed occurred.

Murphree and one of the fire victim’s knew each other, police say.

 

Marissa’s police chief told News 4 there is no evidence linking Murphree to five other recent fires in the town.
