MOBERLY, Mo. (KMOV.com)- Former Missouri State Rep. Randy Asbury announced his candidacy for Missouri Governor at Moberly Area Community College Thursday.
Along with being a former state representative, Asbury is a former farmer, small business owner, Executive Director of the Coalition to Protect the Missouri and Principal and CEO of Principled Solution and Strategies, LLC.
Asbury served as a Republican in the state House in 2011 and 2012, representing the former 22nd District, which included Moberly.
Asbury's announcement creates a three-way primary race between himself, former Missouri House Speaker and U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway and State Auditor Tom Schweich for the Republican nomination.
As of now, Attorney General Chris Koster is the only Democrat to announce a campaign for the 2016 Governor race.
