ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A 27-year-old man, Rico J. Combs, will be serving time in prison after being found guilty for murder, assault and other charges.
In August, 2013 Combs broke into the home of the mother of his three young children and shot two men, killing one.
After the mother of Combs's children filed an order of protection against him on August 14, 2013, Combs broke into the woman's home in the 1300 block of North Seventh Street.
Combs then shot two male friends of the woman, killing 27-year-old John D. Gorman and hitting the other victim in the face.
Combs then found his daughters and their mother hiding in a closet, where he tried to shoot the woman but missed. He then hit her with his gun and pressed the hot barrel into her skin, leaving a barrel-shaped burn on her forehead.
A jury found Combs guilty of 16 charges Thursday, including a count of first-degree murder, assault, burglary, multiple accounts of armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of the child.
