O'FALLON, Ill. (KMOV) -- Police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman outside her front door on Thursday morning.

The victim, a woman in her mid-thirties, says she was attacked around 11 a.m. in the 900 block of Jordan Street in O'Fallon, Illinois  while she was home alone.

After a struggle, the man left and the woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The attacker is described as a white male with black hair, between 6-foot to 6-foot-2 and weighing 170 or more pounds. He was wearing a black hat, a black suit-style coat, white dress shirt with a black tie, black sunglasses and black gloves.

Authorities are concerned by the man's outfit, telling News 4's Alexis Zotos that they are not sure if the suspect is a white-collar citizen, or whether he was dressing to blend in or to appear as a Jehovah's Witness.

The incident, which occurred two blocks away from Delores Moye Elementary School, caused the school to temporarily go on lockdown.

A sketch is being worked up of the suspect and is expected to be released to the public in the next few days.
