MASCOUTAH, Ill. (KMOV) -- A man accused of breaking into a home in Collinsville and assaulting the owner has been captured by the U.S. Marshals Service.

John Lee, 44, of Collinsville, was arrested in Mascoutah on Friday.

On Wednesday, Lee is accused of breaking into a residence in the 500 block of Chestnut Street. The homeowner found him standing at the top of the stairs. He blocked the door as Lee tried to flee, which resulted in a fistfight. The victim struck Lee enough that it caused him significant bleeding.

Lee was able to get away, but police located his getaway car. He is currently out on parole for a prior burglary conviction.
