(KMOV.com) – Dogtown residents said they are starting their own neighborhood watch program in response to a series of daytime burglaries and other crimes.
The move comes after a series of car break-ins, most of which have occurred in the daytime, and after a woman said she was beaten with the butt of a gun on her own front porch. Resident John Corbett said his neighbors deserve a sense of security.
“We need to give people confidence in the neighborhood. That’s what they need,” Corbett said.
Corbett said residents who are home during the day will drive through the neighborhood to keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Corbett told News 4 a few residents have already expressed an interest in participating.
