MSD starts clean-up process after sewer backups flood north St. Louis homes

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Two days after the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District admitted it was responsible for the sewer backups that flooded 100 homes at Dryden and Newstead in north St. Louis, the agency is bringing in two companies to start the clean-up process.

A hundred workers are hauling out the wet possessions and tearing out soggy flooring and walls.

MSD says it may take the homes another couple of days to dry out and be sanitized. Then they’ll start working with contractors and the owners to fix the homes.
