(KMOV) – The hot weather and recent flooding are forcing St. Charles’ Riverfest to make some last minute changes this year.
Organizers have had to cut back hours due to the heat, and flooding along the Missouri River forced Riverfest to move up onto the street as opposed to the grass right by the water where it normally takes place.
That move cost the event valuable space. A vendor who organizes it all says they usually have about 150 feet of space to fit their rides. Now they have about 34 feet. As a result, four of their most popular rides, including the Ferris wheel and the bumper cars had to go.
