(KMOV) -- The annual 4th of July celebration in St. Charles, Riverfest, is moving across the street due to last weekend’s heavy rain.
Organizers were worried that the grassy areas of Frontier Park would be too soft and muddy from the rising Missouri River for the carnival rides. The river will not be high enough to cause any flooding.
Organizers say the rides will be set up in the street on Riverside Drive with the soundstage and vendors stationed in the parking lots across the street from Frontier Park.
Those attending are urged to park in one of the large surface parking lots on either end of Riverside Drive or the parking garage near the St. Charles County courthouse.
