(KMOV) – A 20-year-old man charged with two felonies for car break-ins Tuesday has been connected to several other break-ins throughout St. Louis.

James Palmer, of the 2800 block of Madison, was first charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and theft/stealing over $500 Tuesday.

The charges stemmed from an incident on June 23, in the 4300 block of McRee, where authorities say he broke into a vehicle and stole the victim's belongings.

A judge originally set bond at $30,000.

After further investigation, detectives connected Palmer to other incidents that occurred earlier this month in the Gate District, Jeff Vanderlou, Forest Park Southeast, and Botanical Heights neighborhoods.

Palmer now faces a total of 12 felony charges, including six counts of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, two counts of theft/stealing over $500, and four counts of theft/stealing under $500.

His bond has been increased to $150,000.

Police do not believe Palmer is a suspect in Friday’s break-ins near Busch Stadium.
