NEW YORK (AP) -- A lot of people spent a pretty uncomfortable night sleeping in or near St. Louis last night. And it has nothing to do with the city, itself. It's because the home of the Gateway Arch is also the home of the first round of auditions for next year's "American Idol." And those who may have a major case of nerves can take heart from someone who came real close to winning last year's contest. Haley Reinhart says she was terrified as she got ready to audition -- especially when she saw the huge lines of people outside the venue, all thinking they had "it." It didn't help that she had failed the first time she tried out for the show. But Haley says she eventually convinced herself that she had nothing to lose -- but everything to gain. And she almost won everything -- finishing third in the competition that ended last month.
