(KMOV.com) -- A St. Louis police officer was injured Sunday morning after attempting to intervene in a domestic disturbance.
The officer was in the 600 block of Pine when she saw a black male and black female fighting. When she approached the couple, the male suspect punched her in the face. The suspect ran from the scene after the officer maced him. The officer chased the suspect until he ran onto a parked bus parked at 7th street where assisting officers took the suspect into custody after a short struggle.
The female officer was treated at an area hospital for lacerations to the face and a shoulder injury. One of the assisting officers was kicked and punched by the suspect, but is expected to recover.
