NORMANDY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Normandy School Sistrict has hired a consulting firm to aid in a nationwide search for a new superintendent, according to a district release.
The move comes less than a month after current superintendent Dr. Stanton Lawrence announced plans to resign at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, a consulting firm based in Chicago, will assist in the search for a replacement. The release states the firm will "identify and interview potential candidates, as well as gather community input regarding superintendent characteristics."
In a statement last month, Lawrence said he will most likely pursue other opportunities in Texas, where he and his wife recently became grandparents.
Lawrence is set to retire on June 30, 2013. The board expects to have a replacement chosen by early March.
