Residents treated for smoke inhalation after apartment complex fire

(KMOV) – Emergency fire crews responded to a two alarm apartment fire in North County.

The fire began around 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the Wellington Arms apartment complex at 11,333 Sugar Pine Road in North County.
 
When firefighters arrived they discovered a kitchen fire in a fourth floor apartment. First responders quickly extinguished the fire. 
 
Smoke filled the complex and caused problems for some residents. About 100 people were evacuated and some were treated for smoke inhalation. No serious injuries were reported.
