(KMOV) – Three St. Charles men working in Haiti for the last week and a half returned home this weekend after helping with relief efforts.
Timothy Borrson, Hugh McCulloch and Edward Walter’s families were waiting anxiously to greet them when their plane arrived at Lambert Sunday afternoon.
The men were working in Haiti in conjunction with Edge Outreach, a business that provides drinking water through a portable purification system. In their time in Haiti, they installed 7 water purification units. The units can produce 10,000 gallons of drinking water per day while running on a 12 volt battery and a handful of salt.
They described the scenes from Haiti as “worse than anything you see on television.” They said the thing that really stood out to them was the children. They were “always willing to help and learn.”
Their trip to Haiti was planned before the earthquake. A spokesperson for Edge Outreach said safety was a concern, but none of the men hesitated and the devastation only increased their desire to go.
