Mo. revenue agency encourages online tax filing

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri revenue officials are encouraging taxpayers to file their state income tax returns online.

State Revenue Director Alana Barragan-Scott says electronic filing is faster and results in fewer errors than filing paper returns.

The agency says that last year, 61 percent of Missourians filed their returns online.

Barragan-Scott also said Missourians should make sure they know about changes in taxes on pensions and military families. There is also a new deduction for energy-efficient homes.
