Officer, suspect shot during incident in Imperial

(KMOV) -- An officer and a suspect were shot during what started as an investigation into an on-going burglary.
 
It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Friday at a home in the area of Falcon Drive and Highway 61-67 in Imperial, Missouri.
 
The Jefferson County sheriff’s department arrived at the home to investigate a tip they had received about stolen weapons.
 
Officers were trying to inspect an outdoor storage shed when, authorities say, a teenager who had been hiding in the shed exchanged gunfire with officers.
 
Corporal Gerald Williams was shot in the arm. His injuries is not life threatening. The suspect was shot twice in the chest. He is identified as 17-year-old Zachary Walck.  

Walck is accused of stealing 40 weapons and using them to commit crimes in Jefferson County.

 He has had prevouis arrests for DWI and drugs.
