The Missouri State Auditor today released her audits of several city departments. One, a portion of the Judicial expenditures, had no problems at all! The Circuit Attorney's Office had problems with inventory and disposal of evidence (which didn't affect performance at trial), and with balancing bank accounts. The Public Administrator's Office couldn't be completely audited because not all of it falls under City control. (The auditor thought it should be, and statute requires it - but so far the city has resisted.) The Recorder of Deeds Office was criticized for poor record keeping (although no money was missing) because cash withdrawals were written down on post it notes. Yep. Post it notes. They're no longer doing that.
