Illini need critical win at Penn State

The Illini will face the only winless team in the Big Ten on Wednesday night— a matchup they need now more than ever. An Illinois squad that’s battling consistency and leadership problems will head to Penn State to play a team that’s 0-7 in conference play.

Illini players hope a team meeting they held Sunday to discuss their season will give them enough energy to end their current three-game skid.

“I think we’re finally now on the same page,” junior forward Bill Cole said. “I think we talked about some things that people had to get off their chest, and I think it fired us up a little bit to go out (and) play our best against Penn State.”
