Jesufaite Denis has started to piece together information coming in from his homeland of Haiti - where most of his extended family still lives.
He says he's heard that his brother and two children are safe, but 24 other family members and close friends are either presumed dead or confirmed to have died during last week's earthquake.
Other families are living a similar nightmare and many do not know if family members are alive or dead.
