St. Louis organizations collecting money for Haiti victims

(KMOV) -- There are more than a dozen organizations in St. Louis with ties to Haiti, collecting money for earthquake victims.

Each organization is trying to help in its own way.  Some are in Haiti assisting in relief efforts and others are helping the nearly one-thousand Haitians living in St. Louis.

Some groups are even helping emergency responders cope with such a large tragedy.

These international organizations are digging their heels in for a decade-long response in Haiti and say they will need volunteers, but right now what they need more than anything is cash.

Here is a short list of organizations helping with relief efforts in Haiti:

  • International Institute
  • Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
  • Jewish Federation of St. Louis
  • Catholic Charities of St. Louis
  • The Salvation Army
  • Habitat for Humanity - St. Louis
