PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -- A New Jersey native who coached Saint Louis University for the past nine years is returning to the Garden State to head the Rutgers men's soccer program.
Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti announced the hiring of Dan Donigan on Friday.
Donigan, who grew up in Hamilton, had a 118-42-23 record at Saint Louis, guiding the Billikens to seven appearances in the NCAA tournament.
He began his coaching career as an assistant at Connecticut, where he'd been a three-time All-American forward.
Donigan replaces Bob Reasso, who had led the program since 1981. He resigned in November.
