(KMOV)—Crews battle one alarm fire in north St. Louis.
This happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 5800 block of Bartmer.
Authorities told News 4 the first crews on the scene reported heavy fire coming through the roof. They tried to battle the blaze from the inside, but the fire got away from them. They pulled back out but were still able to contain the fire to one alarm.
Preliminary indications are that the fire started in the attic. Authorities told News 4 it appears to be accidental, but investigators are on the scene to determine the exact cause.
The occupant of the house was away at the time. No injuries were reported. The house has extensive smoke, water, and fire damage.
