(KMOV)-- A young Haitian will start college courses in St. Louis Tuesday. He just missed being a victim of the devastating earthquake thanks in part to a local dentist.
Until ten days ago, Steven Julmus, 20, still lived in Haiti. That's where he met local dentist Todd Wind at an orphanage in Port-Au-Prince. That orphanage is now so damaged, the children are being forced to live outside, under tents.
Julmus arrived in St. Louis 3 days before the quake. Julmus starts classes Tuesday at Meramec College. He hopes to be a physician and return to Haiti someday.
