3 Dead, 2 children in satisfactory condition after multi-car crash

TROY, Mo. (AP) -- Three adults are dead and two children hospitalized after an accident in eastern Missouri.

The wreck happened Thursday night on Route 47 in Lincoln County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victims as 24-year-old Kenneth Brawley of Old Monroe, 43-year-old Mildred Baker of Elsberry and 41-year-old Keith Ramsour of Winfield.

The injured children, 7-year-old Charles Whitford and 2-year-old Daniel Whitford, both of Troy, were in serious condition at St. Louis Children's Hospital. The patrol says the boys were the only ones wearing seat belts.

The patrol says Brawley crossed the center line and struck a 1999 Suzuki Vitara driven by Baker. Ramsour and the children were riding with Baker.
