(KMOV.com) -- A new set of lane closures in St. Charles County at Route 94 and Route 364 begin Monday.
Both eastbound and westbound directions on 94 at Mid Rivers Mall Drive will have lane closures due to the third phase of construction.
Eastbound traffic on Route 94 will be diverted off of the highway at Mid Rivers Mall Drive, proceed through the intersection and re-enter eastbound Route 94.The detour is expected to continue for approximately one month until the new Route 364 extension opens at the end of October.
Missouri Department of Transportation Engineers said there would be a significant impact on traffic and recommended that drivers avoid the area.
"This is very similar to what we did on the previous phase of 364 on phase 2 so motorists will be somewhat familiar... where you have to exit and then you get right back on the highway." Tom Evers, MODOT area engineer said.
The third phase of the Page Avenue extension will draw to a close at the end of the week. The entire construction project is scheduled to finish by the Oct. 31.
