(KMOV.com) -- Controversy is brewing over the absence of a popular high school principal and the issue is driving some students out of the classroom at Vashon High School.
Vashon principal, Terry Houston, stepped down from his position Friday after he had been missing for weeks. The school districts only comment on Houston’s departure has been to say he left voluntarily.
“They’re telling us lies,” said Vashon Senior Albert Montgomery, “We want the truth, we just seen Houston’s face, just seen his face to calm us down. We don’t want to be calm until Houston is back at Vashon.”
Students told News 4 they’ll continue demonstrating, and they might even stop going to class, if they don’t get an explanation.
The district said an interim principal will be at Vashon Monday morning.
