FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Devin James, the man hired by Ferguson to rebuild the city's image, was fired Thursday night after the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership found out he is a convicted killer.
When the violence broke out in Ferguson James went from a sub-contracting job to working on rebuilding the city’s image. But, when the news broke about his conviction, the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership ordered James to be fired.
Friday, James was back on the job, showing up at the Ferguson Police Department. Police Chief Tom Jackson says James sends the right message to many people in Ferguson who have already had trouble with the law.
James is in the middle of negotiating a contract with Ferguson officials to continue his work with the city.
