FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Franklin County Health Department is warning residents about the outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease.
Cases have shown up in Washington, Villa Ridge, Gray Summit, and Pacific, but more cases are suspected. Cases include students and children at home day care and licensed child care centers.
Hand, foot and mouth disease is a viral illness that affects infants and children younger than five years of age. The illness usually starts as blisters in the mouth and develops into a skin rash.
