(FootballStL) – Jeff Fisher said he was shocked to learn about the passing of former Tennessee Titans’ player Rob Bironas, who was killed in a car accident Saturday.
Fisher was in Tennessee for six of Bironas’ nine seasons and said the kicker was a fun person to be around.
“It came as a real shock,” he said, “Very early [Sunday] morning I got the text. Just very sad, sad deal. Rob was really like I said, he was a great teammate. People don’t realize everything that he did off the field in the community. He was really involved with the charity and the music industries and such. I wanted to make sure that not only his family but the Bradshaw family knew we were thinking about him.”
The Associated Press said Bironas, 36, lost control around a curve in Nashville Saturday night and his wife reported him missing Sunday. A 911 call released Monday revealed that a woman said Bironas was driving erratically before the crash. The accident is under investigation and an autopsy has been performed.
