ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – St. Louis County Police are investigating a chemical leak in a residential neighborhood in West County.
The leak happened in the 2000 block of Seven Pines, near the intersection of Olive and Fee Fee. The Maryland Heights Fire Department responded to the scene.
Authorities say someone tripped while walking out of a basement, knocking over a container of muriatic acid, a type of acid used in pool cleaning. Vapors began to form after the container was knocked over.
Authorities were notified shortly after the spill.
The home was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
