Woman tells police she sold stolen jewelry to buy heroin

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A woman admitted to police she stole jewelry from three women at an assisted living facility in order to obtain money to buy heroin.
Tracy Jarabaa, 48, is charged with three felony counts of stealing over $500 for incidents that occurred between March 3 and May 27 at the Alexian Brothers-Sherbrooke assisted living facility in the 400 block of Ripa Avenue.
Police say Jarabaa took a 14-carat white gold-and-diamond engagement ring, a 14-carat white gold wedding ring, a gold engagement ring with a round center diamond and a gold rope necklace with a gold charm while she was an employee of the facility.
Jarabaa told police she sold the jewelry at a pawn shop in order to obtain money to be heroin.
