ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The Department of Justice announced a new initiative to build trust between law enforcement and the community they serve.
Eric Holder held a meeting Thursday with the U.S. Attorneys at the Justice Department to discuss the community’s concern over the investigation into Michael Brown Jr.’s death and the separate investigation into the Ferguson Police Department.
Since Brown’s death, there has been a growing mistrust between police and the Ferguson community.
“In my conversations with dozens of people in Ferguson yesterday, it was clear that this shooting incident has brought to the surface underlying tensions that have existed for many years,” Holder said during his visit to Ferguson last month.
