ELLISVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Ellisville may join several Missouri communities that ban texting while driving.
Ellisville is considering adding the measure that would ban texting and driving for all drivers, not just drivers under the age of 21, which is under Missouri State Law.
Florissant, St. John, Kirkwood and Manchester already ban texting while driving. But Ellisville wants to work through problems Manchester has faced in enforcing the law. Since June 1st, Manchester has issued only 15 citations for texting while driving.
Illinois already bans texting while driving, statewide.
