WAYNESVILLE, Mo. (AP and KMOV.com) -- The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says deputies found roughly 400 guns at a business being searched as part of a homicide investigation.
Deputies say they inspected Hilltop Motors in Waynesville on Friday because of the death of 82-year-old Robert Willhite. The disabled navy veteran died last month after being beaten in his home and robbed of items including guns. Four people were charged in the death.
Authorities say they found 350 to 400 firearms with at least 40 of them confirmed to be stolen or illegally modified. They said stolen property and a large amount of money were also secured and will be examined as evidence of other possible crimes.
Police said 49-year-old Richard E. Jensen of Waynesville was arrested at the scene for Unlawful Possession of Firearms. A second individual was arrested at the scene but was released the following morning. Jensen is being held at Pulaski County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
